What's inside my LCF makeup kit

As you may have read in my last post, I received the rest of my LCF makeup and hair kit on Thursday. For those thinking of starting a career in makeup artistry, have just started but aren't sure what basics they need to start a kit, or those who are just nosey, I'll give you a quick glimpse in to my LCF kit. There are a couple things that are missing at the time of taking these photos; skincare basics, spray bottles, brush cleaner, etc, but you'll get the jist I'm sure! I've also left out all of my extra products and colours, just so you can see the very basics you need, then of course you can build on that over time.

These are items I need for almost every time I apply makeup, with a few tools thrown in.
Containing: Two small glass bowls, hair control grips, stainless steel palette, spatula, two beauty spoons, wooden modelling tool, two stacks of five plastic containers, body painting brush, black stipple sponge and a fine orange stipple sponge.

Skincare. There's a lot of products that aren't pictured here, as I had the move my giant pack of baby wipes to accommodate them. I will include them in my list never the less!
Containing: Purity cleanser, Garnier Pure and Natural toner, Purity moisturiser, Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream (Miracle product!), cotton buds, cotton pads and various travel sized lotions and potions.

Make sure to always buy skincare that is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin, you will be working on all types of skin, and you never know what someone may be allergic to.

Face. All these products can be found in my MAC kit post here, except for the one Illamasqua blush in the centre! I will be adding more products to my kit as I progress, but for now while I study at LCF they provide us with a whole spectrum of MAC foundation shades in our makeup rooms to use, so this is literally the very basics.

Lips and eyes. Probably the fullest part of my kit, hence the amount of pictures!
Contains: Kryolan supra colour palette (pictured above), Kryolan aqua colour palette, MAC eyeshadow palette, Kryolan lip rouge palette, various MAC & Kryolan pigments , and other MAC products from my post here.

I make sure to separate my lip and eye pencils into colour-coded clear pouches, to save having to root around figuring out what's what. I also use a bigger pouch to separate dirty brushes when I've finished a job to make cleaning them when I get home easier, and to prevent contaminating my clean brushes! If you're in the UK, you can get the ones I use from Sainsbury's. They're just clear pencil cases, really cheap at 79p and they do the job!

Accessories & Disposables.
Contains: Non-latex sponges, powder puffs, disposable mascara wands, many boxes of eyelashes, duo adhesive, eyelash curlers, pincers, tweezers, scissors and sharpeners - various widths.

The brushes on the right are ones I received in the kit, I was a bit sceptical when ordering as I had never heard of anyone using Pazery Bouffard brushes. However, they are so, so good. They're super soft with no fallout, and are probably the best quality brushes I have tried to date. I'm not sure where you can directly buy them from, if anyone knows then share it in the comments section!

Last but not least, my hair kit! I won't go through it all, as there are way too many grips, pins and brushes to list. I'm sure it's easy to tell from the picture though, and if you're interested, everything here is from www.banburypostiche.co.uk

So that's it! Not very detailed or interesting, but it may hopefully help some of you.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

    1. I'm so glad! We've only been having proper lessons for the past two week, so I can't really say. I'm enjoying it so far though! You learn so many good techniques that you wouldn't normally get anywhere else, i'd definitely recommend it here :)

Good luck for your interviews in the future

    1. Hi!
I'm also on the FDA hair and makeup for fashion course! One of the course directors will email you soon with a list of what you need for your kit, along with the company order forms containing everything you need. If I remember right you'll have the MAC kit, Charles Fox kit, Banbury Postiche kit, Hair styling tool kit and another makeup kit including the brushes. Altogether it comes to around about £1250, argh!
If you have any other questions feel free to email me at saraexallmua@gmail.com , or contact me via my Facebook makeup page www.facebook.com/saraemakeup .

Hope you enjoy LCF and I may see you around come September! x
