Big update at Beauty Lust!

I'm back! It has been a whirlwind of a month for me, both personal and work wise.
Firstly, let me apologise for the sudden disappearance, the past two months saw almost everything in my life go through some kind of change and at first I was keeping on top of everything, then I seemed to become buried under it all!

If that wasn't enough, the main email account I use for all makeup/blog/writing business decided to mess up without me realising, until I had emails from companies wondering why I wasn't replying..turns out a handful of contacts weren't receiving my emails, what a nightmare! So on top of everything else I've been trying to set up a new contact email, this time directly from my domain name so I have my fingers crossed there will be no more problems. I decided until I had the new email up and running and I had explained what had happened to those who were affected, I wouldn't post anything in case they thought I was just being unprofessional. So hopefully that explains why I've been gone for so long!

But enough of the boring stuff and on to the more exciting news! I have over a months worth of products and tutorials all ready and waiting to be posted for you all, I am also very excited to have been working with some exciting brands, most recently being part of Pinterest's Pin it Forward campaign, more of which you'll hear about in the coming weeks.

I'm very excited to share with you all what I've been up to and most importantly I'm excited to be back!

OCC Sci-Fi Lullabies

OCC Sci-Fi Lullabies Lip Tars - £11.95

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a boutique beauty brand that provides 100% vegan and cruelty-free products. Favoured among make-up artists for their high-pigmented, high-quality products, OCC are fast becoming the go-to cult brand.

Their Spring collection, Sci-Fi Lullabies, consists of six Lip Tars and six Nail Lacquers and present a mix of both ready-to-wear and more out-there, couture shades. The movie geeks among us will appreciate the names, like Ripley, an antique gold metallic nail, and LeeLoo, a vibrant orange with metallic shimmer, a colour matching Milla Jovovich’s cult character’s hair.

The Lip Tars range from light champagne and peach shades to the more daring metallic pink and gunmetal black. As with all Lip Tars, these extraordinarily pigmented glosses pack a punch, so a little goes a long, long way! They are also extremely blendable, allowing you to mix them up to create your own custom lip colour.

If you’re looking to change up your make-up routine or wanting a pop of colour to brighten your day this spring, look no further, OCC Sci-Fi Lullabies has you covered.

Five favourites

Here's what I'm loving at the moment:

1. Girls  You must be living under a rock if you've not heard of this show! Written, directed and starring Lena Dunham and produced by the unstoppable force that is Judd Apatow, Girls is unlike anything seen on TV at the moment. Brutally honest, unapologetic and funny, I gave it a try one night and wasn't quite sure what to make of it...Four hours later, I'd watched half of season 1 and was completely hooked. I have just watched the season 2 finale and I'm already impatiently waiting for season 3. Unless you are of the prudish or easily embarrassed type (Too much nudity and all-out awkward sex scenes to mention), I urge you to give it a go.

2. Nelly blog, Fanny Lyckman - This is a girl after my own heart, her wardrobe is literally my exact style, only if I had the money to afford it. Her blog has introduced me to numerous fashion sites and boutiques that I would never have found normally, and a few of which I have become a frequent customer to. Her own line of clothing is to hit nelly.com this year and I am eager to see what gems are among the collection.

3. OCC Sci-fi Lullabies - I am a huge fan of OCC lip tars, they are unbelievably pigmented (Literally the tiniest drop on my hand is all that is needed to fill a lip with dramatic colour), and come in a host of weird and wonderful colours. So of course their SS13 Sci-fi Lullabies collection has me drooling. My favourite of the collection is a metallic gunmetal black, which I can't wait to get my hands on. A full report on the new collection will be up soon via The Upcoming.

4. Pinning sprees - I love, love, love Pinterest. I used to have various picture blogs just to have a place to store reference images, so when Pinterest came along I was straight in there requesting an invite to sign up, and I've been pinning away ever since. Especially useful with my makeup, I use secret boards to research for shoots and personal projects, including a circus/freakshow photo series I'm currently planning. You can follow my boards on Pinterest at pinterest.com/saramua .

5. Drive original soundtrack - This has been a favourite for a long time, but I was struggling to reach five!! I'm a sucker for a good movie soundtrack, and this is by far one of my favourites. The perfect album to chill out to, as well as being one of my favourite films. Now I just need the vinyl so I can have the pretty pink record!
